Dr. Erik Fromme on the importance of advance care planning with links to long-term care resources.
A nationally known palliative care expert, Dr. Fromme has worked with the Serious Illness Care Program at Ariadne Labs to develop an evidence-based program of communication tools, clinician training, and systems changes that ensure that decisions about care reflect what matters most to patients and their families. He works with the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston on the Adult Palliative Care Team.
Prior to joining Ariadne, Dr. Fromme was the Section Chief and Medical Director for Palliative Care at Oregon Health & Science University, founding their outpatient palliative care program and developing a research program in patient reported outcomes, hospice and palliative care health service research, and Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment.
